Police say a Honda Civic was travelling east on Kingsway, when it reportedly tried to make a left turn onto Princess Elizabeth Avenue. It was at that point that it was struck by a westbound tractor trailer, which police say had the right-of-way.

It happened around 5:40 p.m.

A 27-year-old man, who was a passenger in the Honda, died at the scene. Police are not releasing his name until the family is contacted.

The 27-year-old female driver was taken to hospital with what are now said to be minor injuries. Charges are pending against her.

The driver of the tractor trailer, also 27, was not injured in the crash.
