Jury convicts Quebec woman who stopped for ducks

This is an absolute miscarriage of justice. The collision occurred because the biker was travelling too fast (113-1329km/h in a 90km/h zone) and was not paying attention to the fact that there was a car stopped in his lane with the hazard lights flashing. People are angry because she stopped for ducklings. What if it wasn’t ducks she stopped for, would that make a difference? Consider the following: What if she were to have stopped to help a biker who had crashed and was laying on the highway? She stops her car between the injured biker and the rest of the traffic with her hazard lights on. Several seconds later (likely closer to a minute) another biker, who was speeding and not paying attention to the road in front of him rear ends her car. Who is at fault then? The issue isn’t the ducks. It is the fact that the biker was speeding and not paying attention to the road ahead.
